Production area
The production of I.G.T. Il Gobbo Nero originates from company’s vineyards, all-organic, that are located on hills with same name in Montaione country, in the province of Florence, about at 450-550 metres above sea level.
Soil composition
Clay-loam, calcareous, very rich in skeleton (rock).
Vinification
The grapes are manual harvested in the first days of October, carried in winery and carefully selected before to be destemmed. The fermentation occurs at controlled temperature in vetrified cement tanks and the maceration on the skins is for about one months with manual replenishment and follature. The wine ages in French oak barriques for more than 16 months and at least 12 in bottle.
Sensations
Colour
Intense ruby red.
Bouquet
It surprises the nose with pleasantly intense notes of pepper, clearing to reveal currants and blueberries on a fruity cherry base.
Palate
Engrossing on the palate, with fine tannins, a solid body, balanced, fresh and well-calibrated. The finish is inviting and complex.
Alcohol content
14,5% vol.
Tasting
It pairs especially with kitchen well-structured of every type, regional dishes based on meat and juicy sauces, venison, beef, steer, lamb and aged cheese.
Uncork and decant the bottle one hour before to drink it and serve at the temperature of 18°C.
